Welcome to PIM VOLUNTEER PROGRAM!

Permaculture Institute Myanmar is dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, and empowering rural communities in Myanmar. We are seeking passionate individuals who are eager to make a positive impact by working with young farmers and supporting local communities through permaculture practices.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to engage in various activities related to permaculture and community development, including:

  • Assisting in permaculture design, implementation, and maintenance on the farm.
  • Providing hands-on training and workshops to young farmers on permaculture techniques, organic farming, and sustainable practices.
  • Participating in organic gardening, composting, and seed saving activities.
  • Collaborating with local communities to develop and implement sustainable agriculture projects.
  • Conducting educational outreach programs to raise awareness about permaculture, organic farming, environmental conservation and local community development.

To ensure a fruitful experience, we seek volunteers who meet the following requirements:

  • A genuine interest in permaculture, sustainable agriculture, and community development.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a diverse cultural environment.
  • Previous experience in permaculture, organic farming, or related fields is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to rural living conditions and limited resources.
  • Respect for local customs, traditions, and the natural environment.

Our volunteer program offers flexible durations ranging from a minimum of fours weeks up to six months, depending on your availability and commitment. The program operates year-round, allowing you to join at various times. The weekly schedule typically involves four full days of work, with three days off for rest and exploration.

As a volunteer, you can expect the following support and benefits:
